Glorifying God through Song on Music Sunday
There were many things about Music Sunday, a worship where the music was the message on February 28th, that made it special. Two of them were the LightHearted Kids and Heirborn Youth.

LightHearted Kids Shine Their Light
It brings great vibrance to worship when the LightHearted Kids share their exhuberant joy with the congregation. On January 31st, they brought a special message of praise when they added ribbon choreography to their song. The lyrics said, "Let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven." That is just what they did!
T-shirts will be here for Music Sunday!
I did my best to incorporate everyone's suggestions and ideas, and this is the result. I hope everyone will enjoy wearing these! The colors are based on youth suggestions and the by-line had input from a few different youth and leaders. The T-shirt company was very impressed with what we came up with, so nice work everyone! We'll debut them on February 28th for Music Sunday!

I Need a Hero!
Heirborn is getting a head start on the "hero" theme that will be spreading around Westover this spring and summer. We're studying Bible stories where people who behaved heroically aren't even mentioned by name. These ordinary people stepped outside the norms of their times to "do something unexpected," "take action," "step out on faith," "save the day," and "stand for truth." From their example, we are learning that when we "join forces with God," we don't need super-strength to make a difference.
The WinterJam Concert was Standing Room Only at Vets!
It was wild! There were so many people lined up for this event that they filled up Vets and then had to turn people away. The craziness of the crowd made it impossible to know where and how many Heirborn and Westover people made it out to the concert, but to all who did, I'm sure it was worth it!
The All Church Skating Party was Fantastic!

We have a lot of fun every year at the skating party, but I can't help thinking this year was really special. It brought together families who are a part of our Wednesday night activities with families who usually come for Sunday worship. It crossed generational boundaries as the skating floor was sometimes occupied by every generation at once from retirees on down to 1 year old toddlers.
