Heirborn Youth
Youthgroup provides young adults a transition into adulthood. We enjoy recreational and social events together, engage in interesting Bible studies, connect to Christ through and despite the technology that pervades the lives of young people, emphasize the importance of Christ-centered living, and begin to take on responsibilities and leadership within the community of Christ. Our youth group is a diverse, fun-loving group of young adults who are learning what it means to live as Heirs to the Kingdom.
We meet at 9 am on Sundays and 6:15pm on Wednesdays; hope to see you there!
Spring Teaser: Heirborn is doing "Hero-Worship!" Come find out what that means - we're having a blast!

Glorifying God through Song on Music Sunday
There were many things about Music Sunday, a worship where the music was the message on February 28th, that made it special. Two of them were the LightHearted Kids and Heirborn Youth.

T-shirts will be here for Music Sunday!
I did my best to incorporate everyone's suggestions and ideas, and this is the result. I hope everyone will enjoy wearing these! The colors are based on youth suggestions and the by-line had input from a few different youth and leaders. The T-shirt company was very impressed with what we came up with, so nice work everyone! We'll debut them on February 28th for Music Sunday!

Vacation Bible School Dates!

We're making summer plans around Westover, so mark your calendar now to be a part of "Hero Headquarters: where kids join forces with God!" From June 21-25th, VBS will start at 9:30 AM each morning to learn about some of the Bible's most unlikely heroes.
I Need a Hero!
Heirborn is getting a head start on the "hero" theme that will be spreading around Westover this spring and summer. We're studying Bible stories where people who behaved heroically aren't even mentioned by name. These ordinary people stepped outside the norms of their times to "do something unexpected," "take action," "step out on faith," "save the day," and "stand for truth." From their example, we are learning that when we "join forces with God," we don't need super-strength to make a difference.

The All Church Skating Party was Fantastic!

We have a lot of fun every year at the skating party, but I can't help thinking this year was really special. It brought together families who are a part of our Wednesday night activities with families who usually come for Sunday worship. It crossed generational boundaries as the skating floor was sometimes occupied by every generation at once from retirees on down to 1 year old toddlers.
Grand Prix: People's Choice Award Voting
The pine car derby cars of the LightHearted and Heirborn groups will be displayed and you will be able to vote for your 3 favorite cars. A special prize will be awarded to the highest vote-getter at the Grand Prix event on Wednesday.
