Love Your Neighbor

Love Your Neighbor

Dr. Del Tackett was the speaker July 18 at Soteria Church on his new Engagement Project.   Maybe you have heard of his Truth Project?  If we haven’t done that here at Westover, it would be good to do the Truth Project and then the Engagement project.  The Truth Project presents a Biblical worldview which is so important so that we have the lens to see all of life in the light of scripture.   The Truth Project explains why Jesus came into the world.  In John 18:37 Jesus said to Pilate, “In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth.  Everyone on the side of truth listen to me.”

The Engagement Project answers questions like this:  Why did Jesus leave?  Why does God send?  What is God’s endgame?  He said that the work of the kingdom of God has been entrusted to the common, every day Christian family, who have been given the task to love your neighbor.  From the very beginning God has given us the assignment to be fruitful and multiply.   Why did Jesus curse the fig tree?  Because it did not bear fruit.   We need to see our neighbors through God’s eyes!  You cannot impact others for Christ without building a relationship with them!   Dr. Tackett closed with this, “We will build relationship with those providentially in our Jerusalem, through prayer and action, with grace and wisdom and truth, being attractively winsome, tearing down walls, building up trust, doing the work of the Kingdom.”  And all God’s people said, “Amen!”
