I never would have imagined when I came to be your pastor June 1, 2015, all that would happen during my time here at Westover. I praise God for the remodeling of our church. I praise God for those that I have baptized. I praise God for the small groups that I have led. Now for about a year we have had to adapt to COVID 19. I never knew that there was such a thing as Zoom but now I use it every week. I know they say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks but I have tried. I am sure that a younger pastor with tech knowledge would have done much better.
Through it all I know that God has been at work and will continue to work here at Westover. I thank God for all of you and pray for you often. You are precious to me and to Kathy. It is hard to leave a church you love but on February 14 I announced my resignation because of my plans to retire. My last Sunday is April 11, the Sunday after Easter. I do not retire because of health issues. I will continue as a part time chaplain at Calvin Community. After much prayer I felt the time was right. In December this year I will be 70, the Lord willing, and I plan to spend more time with family. You are in my prayers. I hope you will continue to attend, serve, support, and give to the ministry of Westover Baptist Church. You are important. Every person has a part to play. God bless you, protect you and give you peace. Pastor Gundar Lamberts.
